Entrepreneurship workshop to focus on business plans
The Entrepreneur Center in the James F. Dicke College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern University will open its series of entrepreneurship workshops on Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Dicke Forum. The event is free and open to the public.
Michele A. Govekar, professor of management at ONU, will present the first workshop, “Why Do I Need a Business Plan?”
Govekar teaches undergraduate courses in management, organizational behavior, and business policy and strategy. Her research and publications focus on the management of U.S. firms’ international operations, determinants of using sweatshops, management of nonprofit organizations, and strategic change in northwest central Ohio organizations.
Her published work has appeared in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Nonprofit and Public Sector Marketing, Journal of Management History, Journal of Practical Global Business, Journal of Education for Business, and others.
Govekar is a member of the editorial board of The Journal of Management History, and serves on the Executive Board of the Management History Division of the Academy of Management, on the Executive Board of the North American Management Society, and as secretary of the Executive Committee of Board of Trustees of Hardin Memorial Hospital.
The workshop will be preceded by a networking event from 5:30-6 p.m. The workshop will follow the networking event and conclude at 7 p.m.
