Homecoming 2011 begins Sept. 30

Ohio Northern University will celebrate Homecoming 2011 from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. All alumni, friends, family, faculty and students are welcome to attend.

With its “Peace. Love. ONU.” theme, Homecoming weekend will kick off on Friday, Sept. 30. The Pettit College of Law will host various sessions throughout the day, including the dedication of the Alumni Moot Court Room and a law donor recognition dinner.

At 6:30 p.m., former athletes will be honored during the ONU Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Banquet.

The annual Stefanie Spielman Walk/Run for Breast Cancer kicks things off Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m., followed by many activities, including tours of the various colleges and the traditional Homecoming parade at 10:30 a.m.

A family-friendly tailgate party begins at 11:30 a.m. before the Homecoming game against Mount Union. Music, games, carnival rides and food will be available for all to enjoy. Tailgate tickets can be purchased through the Office of Alumni Relations.

Saturday evening, gather on the tundra for the annual Balloon Glow and fireworks to follow.

Bill Medley, from the Righteous Brothers, will headline this year’s Homecoming concert, which begins Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.
