Dr. Catherine L.E. Young-- Research and Teaching
I joined the faculty at Ohio Northern in the fall of 2009 as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Biology. My primary area of interest is in the field of public health and the factors that influence health and disease. Current research projects include the ecology and distribution of medically important mosquito species in the Midwest, the effect of chitin supplementation on the antimicrobial properties of thyme, and the efficacy of using simple physiological observations to predict the onset of menstruation in women. I teach general introductory biology and general zoology courses, anatomy & histology dissection labs, and epidemiology, which is offered every spring.
