Faculty member receives Templeton Award
Dr. Darrin W. Snyder Belousek, lecturer in philosophy at ONU, is the winner of this year’s Templeton Enterprise Article Award, presented by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), a national educational organization headquartered in Wilmington, Del.
The Templeton awards are presented annually to scholars under 40 who have produced the very best books and articles in the field of humane economics and culture over the past two years. The Templeton Enterprise Awards are becoming some of the most sought-after academic honors in the American academy, with almost $100,000 in total prize money. The top book author receives $50,000 in prize money, and the top article author receiving $25,000.
Snyder Belousek received the award for his article “Market Exchange, Self-interest and the Common Good: Financial Crisis and Moral Economy,” Published in the Journal of Markets and Morality, 2010.
The winners received their prizes Tuesday night, June 14, at a special awards reception at the Philadelphia Marriott West.
