Ohio Northern University’s Heterick Memorial Library provides important resources for students, faculty and staff on campus. Now, the new mobile app Heterick2Go provides many of those same services for those on the go.
Library resources overall are becoming more digital and mobile, and ONU is keeping up with the ever-changing technology. This app continues the library’s long-time practice of using technology to promote scholarship.
“We wanted our users to have the benefits of the mobile interfaces,” Indra Canagaratna, systems librarian at Heterick Library said, “They should be able to access library resources anytime, from anywhere.”
Heterick’s staff partnered with Boopsie, a leading mobile solution provider for universities and libraries worldwide, to create the mobile application, which includes the entire library catalog and research databases. A student using this app will also be able to view his or her account, renew checked out materials, check due dates, hold items, find locations and hours, contact the library staff, ask questions and more.
Heterick2Go is free to download and is available for many phone platforms and operating systems including Android, Blackberry and iPhone. For students without a smart phone, these tools will remain available through the library’s web site and at the library.
To download Heterick2Go visit http://onulib.boopsie.com through your phone’s web browser, or the QR code to the left. Android Devices will be redirected right to the app's download page from the Android Market app store. iPhone, iPod Touch will be redirected to the iTunes App Store. Blackberry users will be redirected to App World.
