Employment law attorney to speak

Ohio Northern University will host Kelly Jennings Yeoman, partner at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP in Columbus, on Tuesday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m. in room 230 of James F. Dicke Hall.
 
The event, sponsored by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), is free and open to the public. Yeoman will speak on her experiences in employment law.
 
Yeoman received her Juris Doctorate from the George Washington University Law School in 1996 and her Bachelor of Arts from Denison University in 1993.
 
Yeoman’s concentration is in labor and employment issues. She has worked with a wide range of issues, including the defense of employers in employment-related claims, internal complaints and investigations, development of personnel policies and practices, and employee discipline and termination.
 
She also has experience in the areas of employment-related matters unique to colleges, universities and academic environments. Yeoman advises many colleges and universities, including Ohio Northern, on faculty and student issues and compliance with laws such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Higher Education Act and the Clery Act.
