ONU to host environmental law speaker
Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law will host “Current Issues Affecting the Environment through Mining and Drilling” with keynote speaker William Reisinger on Tuesday, April 19, at noon in the Moot Court Room. The event is sponsored by the ONU Environmental Law Society. It is free and open to the public. Food will be provided.
A 2008 graduate of ONU’s College of Law, Reisinger rejoined the Ohio Environmental Council’s Ohio Environmental Law Center as staff attorney after interning with the organization while in law school. Reisinger assists with the Law Center’s litigation and provides legal analysis and support for the organization’s Air & Energy, Agriculture & Clear Water, and Legislative Affairs programs.
Based in Columbus, the Environmental Law Center uses legal advocacy, education and analysis to support environmental issues such as clean air, land, and water. The environmental cases they have won have been some of the most significant in the state of Ohio, including protecting Ohio from power plant pollution, enforcing water quality standards and total maximum daily loads (TMDL), and working to ensure that air and water pollution permits are strong enough to protect Ohio’s environmental and human health.
Along with his membership with the Ohio Bar Association, Reisinger is a licensed attorney in the commonwealth of Virginia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English and political science from Emory & Henry College in Virginia. He also is a licensed pilot.
