At a glance: Civil Engineering
The civil engineering department has been preparing students for professional careers in civil engineering since 1880 and does it well. As a civil engineering major, you would join more than 100 other students taking courses in our broad-based curriculum that covers environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering and water resources engineering. The civil engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, http://www.abet.org. Visit the department's web site.
The Robert W. Biggs Engineering Building houses the T.J. Smull College of Engineering. Its classrooms, laboratories, computer labs, faculty and administrative offices completely accommodate the College of Engineering. Major features of the facility include: Two PC-CAD laboratories, concrete testing laboratory, engineering materials laboratory, environmental laboratory, geotechnical laboratory, structural engineering laboratory, water resources laboratory, senior design project studio.
