ONU Office of Multicultural Development presents “First Year Focus”
The Ohio Northern University Office of Multicultural Development will present the Harambe Festival and Opening the Way Reception as the first two events of the 2006 First Year Focus developmental series.
The program is designed to acquaint the university community with the Office of Multicultural Development, the Multicultural Center and various multicultural student organizations.
The Opening the Way reception will kick the series off on September 6 from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Dicke Hall Foyer. First-year multicultural students will learn about various on-campus resources, as well network with other freshman multicultural students, peer leaders, administrators and faculty.
The Harambe Festival will be held on September 15 at 6 p.m. at the ONU Multicultural Center. The Harambe Festival was named in the spirit of the Swahili word “harambe,” meaning “working together in unity,” and encourages all students and staff to come together to experience others’ cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
