A letter from ONU President Dr. Ken Baker
Dear ONU Parents,
While it has been another very successful year at Ohio Northern, and we have much to be proud of, we also are extremely cognizant of the fact that the economic recession continues to affect many of us. Like many other colleges and universities in the nation and the world, ONU has had to make some very tough decisions that will continue to impact our entire University community for the upcoming school year and beyond.
Ohio Northern and its Board of Trustees continue to be mindful of the fact that many of our students and families are finding challenges in paying for their education. While we are firmly committed to ensuring the very best educational experience for our students, we also are aware that affordability must be balanced with the rising cost of day-to-day operating expenses.
With this in mind, our Board of Trustees unanimously approved a very modest tuition increase of 3.9 percent and 4.8 percent for law students. For those students living in campus housing, room and board also will increase at last year’s rate of 5 percent. This increase includes a new, student-proposed laundry fee, which will give students unlimited use of campus washers and dryers.
As Toby and I enjoy our remaining time at ONU, we send you our best wishes for a wonderful spring and cordially invite you to come home to Ohio Northern! Spend the night or enjoy a meal at our beautiful Inn, attend a play, musical program or athletic event, and see for yourself all that is happening here that makes us so proud to be part of this great University.
With warm regards,
