Ohio Northern Names Director of University Communications and Marketing

Carol S. Flax has been named director of university communications and marketing at Ohio Northern University.

In this new position, she will develop and deliver a comprehensive, university-wide communications and marketing program; lead the development of integrated marketing efforts; and supervise the office of University Communications and Marketing.

“I am happy to announce that Carol Flax will be joining us as the director of university communications and marketing beginning on September 5, 2006,” said Thomas R. Stevick, vice president for university advancement. “Carol is a native of Ohio and is excited to be returning home. I hope you will join me in welcoming Carol to campus.”

A graduate of Heidelberg College with a degree in English and speech, Flax also holds a master of speech and theater degree from the University of Michigan.

Flax has gained extensive knowledge and experience in professional marketing throughout her career. Most recently she served as the director of marketing for State University of New York-Albany. She has also worked as the director of marketing and business development for Ohashi International, Ltd., where she developed and negotiated contracts with internationally known companies such as L’Oreal-Paris, Helena Rubinstein, Dermalogica, Canyon Ranch and BioElements.
