Astronomy Club invites community to new Observatory
The Ohio Northern University Astronomy Club is conducting an astronomy event in the new ONU Observatory on Friday, Jan. 14, from 8-10 p.m.
The astronomers will focus on viewing the Moon, Uranus and Jupiter through their large telescopes. They will pay special attention to viewing the craters and mountains on the Moon, the pale green disk of Uranus, and the moons and belts around Jupiter. The observatory has a cool control room and public restrooms, which are kept warm. However, since the telescopes are in an unheated outdoor area, visitors are advised to dress warmly.
In the event of cloudy or unfavorable atmospheric conditions, the event will be canceled. Please consult this website for news on possible cancelations and to view maps of the observatory.
The event is free and open to the public.
