Bud Smith Publishes ‘Ohio Outback’

“Ohio Outback: Learning to Love the Great Black Swamp,” the latest book by Dr. Claude Clayton “Bud” Smith, ONU professor of English emeritus, is now available.

The 176-page hardback, published by The Kent State University Press, is an example of creative nonfiction, set in Ada’s cul de sacs. With everyman humor, Smith recounts his ongoing “Yard Wars” with creatures both wild and human and makes side trips to the Wilson football factory and Clyde, the Winesburg, Ohio, of Sherwood Anderson.

The book is just the latest of Smith’s publications. “The Way of Kinship: An Anthology of Native Siberian Literature,” with co-editor Alexander Vaschenko, has been published by the University of Minnesota Press.

Both are also available online at Amazon.com
