ONU Yoga Classes Begin
Winter ONU Yoga classes began Jan. 4 for current and retired faculty and staff. Participants can still join these free classes.
Beginner 1 Yoga for current and retired faculty and staff only, is offered from 5:45 to 7 p.m., Tuesdays in the Dance Room of the Sports Center. This class is a gentle, slow-paced class that allows participants to learn and practice basic yoga.
Beginner 2 Yoga meets from 4:45 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays and is open to faculty, staff and students. This class includes basic yoga plus a more physically challenging practice.
Participants should bring a yoga mat and a foldable blanket or thick towel. The instructor for both classes is Leslie Schmidt, a YogaFit Level 3-trained instructor.
ONU Yoga is suitable for people who are generally physically fit without serious medical conditions. Participants should consult their physicians to see if they are able to engage in yoga, elements of which may be strenuous. Neither class is designed to accommodate pregnant or early stage post-natal participants.
