ONU presents ‘Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical’

Dec 14, 2010

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the award-winning tale “Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical” on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at 10 a.m. Tickets are on sale now.

Adapted from a beloved Caldecott Honor-winning storybook by six-time Emmy winner Mo Williems, “Knuffle Bunny” has been transformed into a brilliant stage production commissioned by the John F. Kennedy Center. A tragic yet hilarious story that centers on a family’s trip to the laundromat, the production is bursting with adventure, song and massive, dancing pieces of laundry.

The cast includes Tony Award nominee Stephanie D’Abruzzo (Kate Monster, Avenue Q) as Trixie, Michael John Casey as Dad, Matthew McGloin as a puppeteer, Gia Mora as a puppeteer, and Erika Rose as Mom. The music was written by Grammy Award-winning composer Michael Silversher.

This musical is geared toward children age 4 and older.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $5 for children and non-ONU students. The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with American Express, MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling 419-772-1900.
