Grants Received

Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mohti, assistant professor of civil engineering, is working in collaboration with faculty at the University of North Florida on a research project titled “Sealing of Cracks on Florida Bridge Decks with Steel Girders.” 

The grant is funded by the Florida Department of Transportation. The sub-agreement to ONU is for $3,500. The project will examine the effect of various parameters which are expected to affect the performance and deck cracking of steel girder bridges.

An outstanding music major at ONU will be named a Presser Scholar and receive a $4,800 Undergraduate Scholar Award from the Presser Foundation, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Thomas Hunt, chair of the Music Department and professor of music. The honor award is given to a senior and the student is selected based on merit and achievement.
