Sprague joins panel discussions with Ohio governor candidates
Dr. Jon Sprague, dean of the Raabe College of Pharmacy, was invited to participate in the Lima News Editorial Board/Community Forum with Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland on Sept. 24 and challenger John Kasich on Oct. 19. The seven-member panel, selected by the Lima News, was made up of people with backgrounds in health, education, manufacturing, small business and local government.
"I appreciated having the opportunity to discuss private education funding and pharmacy with the governor candidates,” says Sprague. “Both candidates even took the time to follow up with me to obtain more information on the budget cuts made by the state to pharmacy dispensing fees and university funding. I felt there was genuine interest in learning more on the subjects."
Community members participating also included:
Barry Clark, president, Perry Corp.
Brenda Ellis, director of special education, Lima City Schools
Ralph Miller, treasurer, West Central Ohio Homebuilders Association
Becky Saine, county administrator, Allen County
Todd Sutton, plant manager, PCS Nitrogen
Greg Wannemacher, owner/president, Wannemacher Enterprise
