Raabe College of Pharmacy, AmerisourceBergen create Good Neighbor Pharmacy Scholarship

The Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University has partnered with AmerisourceBergen Corporation to create the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Endowed Scholarship Fund available to ONU pharmacy students seeking a career in retail community pharmacy.

"We're very appreciative to the AmerisourceBergen team for establishing the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Endowed Scholarship Fund,” says Dr. Jon Sprague, dean of the college. “The scholarship will provide much needed student support and will reinforce our college’s long-standing tradition of excellence and dedication in preparing students to serve in community pharmacy."

For scholarship consideration,pharmacy students must be in their third or fourth year of study, show an interest in practicing in a community retail setting, and be an active member of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) student organization.

ONU has one of the strongest NCPA student chapters in the nation as demonstrated through finishing in the top three of all chapters with the 2010 Outstanding Chapter Award. Dr. Deirdre Myers, ONU pharmaceutics laboratory instructor and pharmacy instructor for pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences, recently won the NCPA National Advisor of the Year award.
