The idea should impact the local or global community in one of these broad categories:

·      Ideas that Improve Society

o   For example, products, processes, or business ideas that reduce our environmental footprint; reduce dependence on natural resources; alleviate poverty; or sustain better standards of living. 

·      Ideas that Improve Health Care

o   For example, products, processes, or business ideas that assist in the delivery of healthcare; assist in disease prevention; assist in reducing spreading disease; or health education. 

·      Ideas that Improve Lives through Technology

o   For example, products, processes, or business ideas that provides more effective or efficient solutions to problems for companies, society, or individuals. 

·      Ideas that Improve Education and The Arts

o   For example, products, processes, or business ideas that provides educational materials and exposure to the Arts to underserved or disenfranchised communities. 

·      Ideas that Create New Businesses or Jobs

o   For example, products, processes, or business ideas that meet or fill a need for customers or create jobs in a region.
