Gamma Chi Chapter Honored

 ONU’s Gamma Chi Chapter of Delta Omicron has been named recipient of the 2010 Chapter Progress Award. The award was made in recognition of the chapter’s 83 percent gain in membership during the 2009-10 academic year.

Chapter advisor Carol J. Gramm was also named one of two outstanding chapter advisors nationally. Emily Lockwood, a senior in music from West Liberty, Ohio, is chapter president.

Delta Omicron is the national fraternity for music majors and minors. ONU’s Gamma Chi Chapter was chartered in February 1999. Gramm has been the chapter’s advisor since that time and Dr. M.J.  (Sunny) Zank is the faculty sponsor and patroness.

The Gamma Chi Chapter has offered tutoring to students enrolled in music classes, presented open and closed recitals and provided topics of interest to music majors. Fund raising efforts support national scholarship opportunities for members.
