Faculty Members Honored by OCA
At the recent Ohio Communication Association (OCA) conference, Dr. Alisa Agozzino, assistant professor of communication arts, was recognized with the "Innovative Teaching Award." The award recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated notable innovations in teaching in their field. Nominees must demonstrate original and creative ways in covering a bold new area of study, an inventive approach to an existing course, or other original methods of teaching.
Dr. Jenny Walton, assistant professor of communication arts, was recognized with the "Distinguished New Teacher Award." This award recognizes promising new faculty members who have demonstrated a consistent record of excellence in teaching. Nominees must be in their first five years of professional teaching and have demonstrated overall effectiveness both in the classroom and through service to their department/campus.
Both awards were made on the basis of nominations, letters of support, and evidence of positive results.
Agozzino, Walton and Dr. Chris North, associate professor of communication arts, also served as chairs, presenters or respondents to programs at the OCA conference.
