Ohio Supreme Court to hold Off-Site Court at Ohio Northern

The Supreme Court of Ohio will convene an official session at Ohio Northern University on Wednesday, Sept. 29. The visit is part of the court's semiannual Off-Site Court Program.
Chief Justice Eric Brown and Justices Paul E. Pfeifer, Evelyn Lundberg Stratton, Maureen O'Connor, Terrence O'Donnell, Judith Ann Lanzinger and Robert R. Cupp will hear oral arguments in four cases beginning at 9 a.m. on campus in Ada, Ohio.

Women's Chorus Seeks Members
The ONU Women's Chorus is welcoming women from Ada and the surrounding community to join the group.

WomackLee Ann Womack Comes to Freed Center
Country singer Lee Ann Womack will perform on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are available now.

Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents "Be the Groove" and the ONU Dance Company on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.

Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'
Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" from Oct. 13-16 at 8 p.m. with a matinee performance on Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.

Phi Beta Delta International Forum Takes on the Politics of Water
Dr. David R. Smith, associate professor of geography, will present a lecture titled "Water War in Central Asia? Implications for Regional and U.S. Foreign Policy” as part of the Phi Beta Delta International Forum from 7 to 8:15 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, in the Dicke Forum.

Paper Published
Dr. Khristo Boyadzhiev, professor of mathematics, is author of a paper published in the "International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology," Vol. 41., Issue 5, pages 667-672.

Article to be Published
Professor Boris Mamlyuk, visiting assistant professor of law, is the author of an article that has been accepted for publication in “Washington University Global Studies Law Review.”  

Ceramists 'Fire' Their Work
Luke Sheets, assistant professor of art, is curator of the ArtSpace/Lima exhibit, “For The Fire: Makers of Wood-Fired Ceramics and Selections from Their Collections.” The exhibit is in place through Oct. 30 and features works by Midwest ceramics who work with wood-fired Kilns.

 assistant professor education, is the author of four articles that have been, or will be published in peer-reviewed journals, during 2010.

Tuition Exchange
Full-time employees who will have a child enrolled in college during 2011-12 as first-time freshmen and all other ranks, are invited to learn about the Tuition Exchange Inc. program in a special session at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29, in McIntosh Room 7. Faculty advisors are reminded that when meeting with students to develop individualized transition to semester plans, resources are available on the p-drive in the folder "SemesterConversionFile."

Counseling Center's New Den
The ONU Counseling Center has relocated to the community room in Klondike's Den, located south of Northern Commons between Loop Road and Lima Avenue. An open house is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 28. Tour the new facilities, enjoy refreshments and register to win a gift basket.

Pharmacy Students Help with 'Prescription Drug Take Back' Program
Two ONU pharmacy students and an ONU pharmacy graduate headed a recent prescription drug take back program at Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio, south of Canton.

Semester Transition Update
ONU students are urged to contact their academic advisor to begin work on individualized transition plans as the university prepares for the upcoming calendar switch to semesters in fall 2011. Each student's transition plan should be completed prior to advanced winter quarter registration in mid-October.

‘Green Monster’ Gets New Coat 
ONU’s “Green Monster” walking path is to get a new coat of paint, weather permitting, beginning today, Sept. 22. The project should take three days to complete.
