This $17,000 scholarship is based on merit and is available to students accepted into The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration.

Leadership is the cornerstone of the mission of the College of Business Administration, and this award is designed to recognize and financially assist students who exhibit exemplary leadership experience and who will contribute to the college’s goals of creating leaders who are ethical, entrepreneurial and engaged.

This award begins with new freshmen students who are admitted to Ohio Northern University in the fall 2011.

New, first-time freshmen students must apply for admission and complete all admission requirements, including the activities section of their application. To be considered, the accepted student should have (at minimum):

  • A 23 ACT (1050 SAT)
  • A 3.30 GPA
  • Top 20% of graduating class
  • Demonstrated exemplary leadership through roles performed, offices held, organizations led, and general attributes that show leadership, involvement and achievement
  • Award is renewable annually based on continued strong academic and leadership performance

The dean of the College of Business Administration will help select students for these awards in coordination with admissions.

The Dean’s Award and other scholarships or events through the regular admissions process are available to those students not selected as Business Leadership Scholars. Business Leadership Scholars may be invited to participate in an on-campus Scholarship Day.

Students are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for need-based programs, including grants, loans and student employment. All ONU awards (i.e. alumni award, out of state award and others) are coordinated with the Leadership Scholarship.

Qualified students are encouraged to complete the application process for admission, visit campus and interview with a representative from the College of Business Administration.
