Freed Center presents Lee Ann Womack

Aug 31, 2010

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents Lee Ann Womack on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. Tickets are available now.

Womack, a country singer who emerged on the scene in 1997 with a sound closely resembling that of Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette, is most famous for her hits “I Hope You Dance,” “If These Walls Could Talk,” and “The Fool.” Her 2000 single “I Hope You Can Dance” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Chart and No. 15 on the Billboard Top 100 and signified an entirely different sound than previous albums. The track, a country-pop crossover, soon became her signature song.

Womack has received five Academy of Country Music Awards, five Country Music Association Awards, and two Grammy Awards.

Tickets are on sale now for $45. The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with American Express, MasterCard, VISA and Discover by calling 419-772-1900. Tickets also are available online at
