Professors Receive Grant to Develop Water-sampling Watercraft
Ohio Northern University professors Dr. John-David Yoder, associate professor of mechanical engineering, Dr. Robert Verb, associate professor of biology, and Dr. Leslie A. Riley, assistant professor of biological sciences, received a $10,000 research grant to design, build and test a watercraft capable of autonomously sampling water quality on Ohio lakes.

Bloomberg Businessweek Ranks ONU Among Best in Ohio
A new PayScale study released by Bloomberg Businessweek ranks Ohio Northern University among the top in the state of Ohio for its return on college investment. ROI is a function of two things: how much students spend to earn a degree, and how much graduates earn.

Summer Open House
High school students who will graduate in 2011 are invited to visit ONU on Aug. 13 to experience the University's unique blend of professional and liberal arts programs. Register by Aug. 6.

9 p.m., Marty Ford Experience, a free concert of music that challenges the mind, feeds the soul and brightens the spirit, sponsored by the West Ohio Cooperative School of Christian Mission, ONU Chapel.

Football Fundamentals
The Ohio Northern Football team will host a basic fundamentals camp on Saturday, July 31 at 1 p.m. The goal of this camp is to teach the fundamentals of football for children the ages of 6-13. To learn more, contact Nick Hajjar at 419-772-2770.

Paper Receives Recognition in Engineering Education
“Addressing Third World Poverty in First-Year Engineering Capstone Projects: Initial Findings,” a paper by Drs. John K. Estell, Ken Reid and Jed Marquart, has been honored in competition sponsored by the First-Year Programs Division (FPD) of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).

Dr. John K. Estell, chair of the Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science Department, has been named program chair for the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Computers in Education Division.
