Study Reveals New Target for Antidepressants Ohio Northern University scientists with collaborators at the University of Michigan have provided the most detailed picture yet of a key receptor in the brain that influences the effectiveness of serotonin-related antidepressants, such as Prozac.
Professor Receives Grant from National Science Foundation Dr. Srinivasa R. Vemuru, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at Ohio Northern University, will use a $23,112 grant from the National Science Foundation to establish a laboratory at the T.J. Smull College of Engineering for the development of computationally intensive algorithms and the use of commercial CAD tools for testing digital and analog VLSI, FPGAs and advanced semiconductor devices.

Distinguished Alumni Honored The Ohio Northern University Office of Alumni Relations honored five alumni with Distinguished Alumni Awards during the 2010 Alumni Weekend on June 5. This year’s honorees are Thomas J. Hagan, a 1965 pharmacy graduate from Covington, Ohio; John Harrison Hull, a 1975 engineering graduate from Ottawa Hills, Ohio; Katherine Frances Karas, a 1975 pharmacy and arts and sciences graduate from Atwater, Ohio; Emory M. Hall, a 1956 pharmacy graduate from North Canton, Ohio; and Cheryl Mason, a 1986 arts and sciences graduate from Fairfax, Va.
