PLUS Students Begin Summer Studies
Twenty-five students are taking part in the Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) program at Ohio Northern Unversity’s Pettit College of Law, June 7 through July 2.
Funded by a grant from the Law School Admissions Council, the programs targets students in the first two years of college, particularly those who are from ethnic or racial minority groups underrepresented in the legal profession.
ONU is hosting students from universities including Morehouse, Spelman, Syracuse, UC Berkeley, University of Houston and Alcorn State and others from Ohio, Wisconsin, New York, Maryland, Colorado and Texas.
The four-week program provides an intense focus on the skills required to succeed in law school, the law school admission process and legal career opportunities. The students will also participate in field trips to the Ohio Supreme Court, the Underground Railroad Museum, local courts and Cedar Point. They will live on campus in the Campus Village Apartments.
