Styling for Charity
Eleven donors, including seven ONU students, two faculty members, and two daughters of faculty members, took part in last Wednesday’s haircuts for charity event.
Nine women donated 10 inches or more to Locks of Love, an organization that makes custom wigs and hairpieces for children with medical hair loss.
Two others gave 8-10 inches each for Pantene’s “Beautiful Lengths” program, which provides wigs for people of all ages through the American Cancer Society.
Haircuts were provided by Exclusive Hair Designs of Kenton, Ohio, which came to campus and gave each donor a free haircut and style. The company may be opening a salon in Ada in the near future.
Excess hair trimmings were swept up and will be sent to aid in the gulf oil spill cleanup.
