2011 Summer Camps at Ohio Northern University

Ohio Northern University will host a number of academic and athletic summer camps that will bring to campus thousands of middle and high school students from across the region. Students will find a variety of opportunities to combine new discoveries with plenty of fun.


 

Orientation for incoming ONU students, Bear Tracks 101, will be June 17, 24 and July 8.

 

Summer Honors Institute, June 19 - 24, June 26 – July 1, July 17-22.

Gifted high school students, sophomores, juniors and seniors, are eligible to attend challenging and in-depth courses on the ONU campus.

Music Camp, June 12-17

Students in grades 7-12 can hone their music talent in vocal, band or sting performance. There is even a composer’s contest.

 

U.S. -  Japan Summer Camp, July 17-30

U.S. students can lean Japanese, experience the Japanese culture, make new friends and earn college credit. Registration is limited to 20 American high school students, freshmen through seniors.

Camp G.E.M.S., July 17-20

Camp GEMS is an engineering, mathematics and science camp designed to develop interest, excitement and self-confidence in young women entering grade 7 or 8 in the fall of 2011.

The camp features hand-on activities in engineering, math, science and computers. A class ratio of 12 students per teacher is emphasized to encourage maximum interaction and instruction. The camp is designed for the all-around student, not just those who excel academically.

 

Sports Camps and Clinics

A summer full of camps and clinics will be held for boys and girls from ages six and older. Programs include all-sports, football, baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, swimming and track and field.

 

Young Women's Leadership Experience

Summer leadership camp for high school juniors and seniors.
