Professors Receive IEEE Honors
Assistant professors of computer and electrical engineering Dr. Sami Khorbotly and Dr. Firas Hassan, with the Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science department, have recently received one of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Real World Engineering Project (RWEP) awards for 2010.
IEEE makes the annual award to educators for contributing educational modules that make electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, and/or electrical engineering technology more relevant to first-year students, and illustrate how the work of engineers and computer scientists directly impacts society. This award is Dr. Khorbotly’s second RWEP award in the past three years. He was also an award recipient in 2008.
