Dr. Jonathan Pitts, associate professor of English at Ohio Northern University, was awarded a Fulbright grant as senior lecturer in American Studies and communications in Turkey for the academic year 2010-11.

Pharmacy Program to be Profiled
The ONU pharmacy program will be featured on the Profile Series on the Discovery Channel. Look for it on March 29 at 7 a.m., Eastern and Pacific time.

Dr. Tim Fuerst, BSBA '85, senior advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, will discuss "The Great Recession" in Ohio Northern University's McIntosh Ballroom on Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m.

International Play FestEighth Annual Play Festival - Canada
March 24-28
This year’s festival will focus on Canadian identity, and ONU has commissioned new works from two emerging Canadian artists who represent diversity within the Arts: Asian-Canadian Elyne Quan and African-Canadian Edwige Jean-Pierre.

Staff committeeSupport Staff Conference Draws More Than 200
On March 3 more than 200 support staff from area colleges and universities met at The Inn at Ohio Northern University for the ninth Annual Support Staff Conference.

Northwest Ohio International Affairs Consortium
ONU faculty and students from the Department of History, Political Science and Justice will take part in the second annual conference of the Northwest Ohio International Affairs Consortium March 19 and 20 at Tiffin University.

Schul Makes Presentations
Dr. James Schul, assistant professor of education, was one of the presenters at the International Society for the Social Studies annual conference at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 26.

Nutter Publishes Article
Paul Nutter, associate professor of technology, is coauthor of an article published in the March 2010 issue of Manufacturing Engineering Magazine, a publication of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Grants Received
The Martha Holden Jennings Foundation has awarded an $18,570 grant to Ohio Northern University thanks to the efforts of Dr. Dennis De Luca, associate professor of biological sciences.
Honda of America Manufacturing has awarded Ohio Northern University a $5,000 grant to support the 2010 U.S. - Japan Camp thanks to the efforts of Dr. Rob Alexander

Registrations are now being accepted for swim classes for ages 4-12.

Relay For Life
For the sixth year on the Ohio Northern University campus, walkers will go around the clock to benefit the battle against cancer during the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

The Ohio Northern University Astronomy Club is conducting a “Spring Star Party” in the Wander Field parking lot on Saturday, March 20, beginning at 8:30 p.m.

Overy Appointed to National Council
Ashley Overy, a fourth-year pharmacy student from Grafton, Ohio, has been appointed as the national student representative to serve on the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ Council on Pharmacy Management for the 2010-11 academic year. 

Gamble to Speak for Entrepreneurship Series
Fergus Gamble, cofounder of Vantage Research Group, DVResearch and Radix will speak at 9 p.m., March 22 in the Affinity Commons as part of the ONU Entrepreneur Speaker Series.

English Majors to Present Papers
Six English majors have had their creative writing or academic papers selected for presentation at the National Sigma Tau Delta Conference being held in St. Louis, Mo., March 17-20.

Marilyn LysohirArt Grad Featured
Marilyn Lysohir,  BA ’72, is featured in the February 2010 issue of Ceramics Monthly. Her “Good Girls 1968” is composed of 163 terra-cotta heads, representing every female student who graduated with her from high school in Sharon, Pa. Her installation debuted at Washington State University in 2007, appeared at her 40th class reunion and is the subject of a documentary film.
