Nominations Sought for Pro Bono Public Interest Award

The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law is accepting nominations for the ninth annual Pro Bono/Public Interest Award. Handed out to an alumnus, student or faculty member, this award expands the College of Law’s commitment to providing pro bono and public interest service to members of the community.

To be eligible, a person must engage in volunteer public interest or pro bono services. Public interest litigation includes advocacy or litigation or both. Individuals employed by legal services programs are eligible. The ONU Pro Bono/Public Interest Committee evaluates the applications from students, colleagues or alumni.

Individuals wishing to nominate someone must submit a letter describing the nominee’s qualifying activities during the past year and additional supporting material. The deadline for nominations is March 30, 2010.  Nomination materials should be submitted to Bruce French, ONU College of Law, 525 S. Main Street, Ada, OH 45810

The award will be given at the ONU Pettit College of Law Honors Banquet on April 14, 2010.
