ONU International Law Moot Court Team advances to the Jessup International Competition
Ohio Northern University's Pettit College of Law Moot Court Team is competing in the The Jessup International Competition in Washington D.C., on March 25.
The ONU team, which finished third in the North Central Regional competition at Cleveland State University on Feb. 23, will face off against law schools from more than 70 countries and the 11 regions in the United States.
All four of the law student advocates from ONU finished in the top half of the 54-student field that included teams from 14 law schools in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
Joshua Jones, from La Crensenta, Ca., was the sixth best oralist, and Ryan McLelland, from Salt Lake City, finished 11th. Melissa Freeman, Athens, Ohio, ranked 17th and Olean Zadorozhna, an LL.M student from the Ukraine garnered 27th. The team was coached by Ashley Nees, from Meadowview, Pa, and Dr. Howard Fenton, also served as the faculty adviser.
