Grant to Fund Concert

childrens choirOn April 7 the African Children’s Choir will present two performances of “Journey of Hope” at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

The performances, designed to spread a message of joy and hope for peace, will be funded in part by a $10,000 Challenge America Fast-Track Review grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The grant, requested by Catriona Macphie Hynds, managing director and development officer of the Freed Center for the Performing Arts, was one of 170 awarded across the country. Only five went to Ohio organizations and ONU was the only Ohio university to receive a grant.

Tickets for the African Children’s Choir will go on sale March 15.
