Men’s Chorus Sets Spring Tour
The Ohio Northern University Men’s Chorus will conduct its annual spring concert tour from Wednesday, March 10, to Sunday, March 14, with performances in Ohio, Indiana and Missouri. The home concert will in ONU’s Presser Hall on Sunday, March 21, at 8 p.m
The more-than-70-voice choir is under the direction of professor Dennis L. Kratzer, director of choral activities and professor of music.
This will mark the eighth tour for the ensemble, which will visit Dayton, Ohio, Zionsville, Ind., and St. Charles and St. Louis, Mo., with performances at churches and Lindenwood University.
Assistant conductors for the choir are Michael Bizzaro, a senior music education major from Port Allegany, Pa., and Timothy Smith, a senior music education major from Westerville, Ohio. Todd Daquino, a senior music education major from Ashland, Ohio, serves as bass section leader, and Will Proctor, a senior biology major from Ada, Ohio, is tenor section leader. Accompanist for the choir is Adam Fahncke, a senior management major from Wapakoneta, Ohio. Dr. Thomas Hunt, chairman of the Department of Music, will be featured as guest artist on the French horn.
The chorus will present sacred and secular selections including some highlights from last year’s show: “Brothers Sing On,” “Touching Shoulders,” “Dies Irae,” “Who Are the Brave,” “Ave Maria,” “Christopher Columbus,” “The Creation” and “I Sought the Lord.”
New selections will include “Behold Man,” “Nigra Sum,” “Ubi Caritas,” “Nothin’ Gonna Stumble My Feet,” “Every Time Feel the Spirit,” “Crazy ’Bout Croonin’,” “Vive L’Amour,” “Carry On My Wayward Son,” “Salvation Belongeth to Our God” and “Bashana Haba’ah.”
