Fenton Conducts Training in Ethopia
Howard Fenton, professor of law and director of the Democratic Governance and Rule of Law LLM program, recently spent a week in Ethiopia conducting a legislative drafting training session for 40 lawyers and government officials.
The training was part of a USAID (United States Agency for International Development)-funded project to assist Ethiopia in its efforts to become a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Building the capacity of Ethiopian lawyers and ministry officials to draft the new laws and regulations necessary for WTO accession is a part of that project. Fenton was asked to conduct the training based on his work in transitional states and his public law and international trade background.
