ONU to Host OPA
The Ohio Philosophical Association (OPA) will hold its annual meeting April 10 at Ohio Northern University, meeting in the Department of Philosophy and Religion in the Burgett Building and The Inn at Ohio Northern University.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Christopher Shields, professor of classical philosophy and tutorial fellow at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University. The title of his talk is “The Priority of Soul in Aristotle.”
Shields will be on the ONU campus April 9 and will lead a philosophy seminar, “The Ship of Theseus (and Diachronic Identity).”
Two ONU faculty members are serving as officers of OPA. the president is Errol Katayama, associate professor of philosophy, and vice-president and program chair is Pat Croskery, director of the honors program and associate professor of philosophy.
A meeting of Ohio Greek Philosophy Reading Group will take place as part of the meeting.
