Clark to Attend FBI Workshop

LeAnnClarkLeAnn Clark, a sophomore in criminal justice and psychology from Franklin, Ohio, will attend two workshops run by Roy Hazelwood, who was one of the first criminal profilers in the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit. Hazelwood’s specialty is sex crimes, and it was his work that led to FBI to include training about sexual offenses at the FBI academy.

Hazelwood has written numerous books and articles, among them Practical Aspects of Rape Investigation, and The Evil That Men Do. His work offers insights into sexual predators, especially rapists, and provides readers with methods of protecting themselves from such predators.

Clark will be the only undergraduate attending these courses. The first course is held from June 7-18 and the second from July 7-11. The programs are sponsored by the Academy Group Inc., a forensic behavioral science company.

Clark’s advisor is Dr. H. James Geistman, assistant professor of criminal justice.
