Broadway Conductor Phil Reno to Present Master Class

Phil Reno works with ONU student, 2008.Broadway conductor, musical director and arranger Phil Reno will present a master class for Ohio Northern University theatre, musical theatre and music students in Snyder Recital Hall of Presser Hall on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, from 4-6 p.m.

Reno has worked on a variety of Broadway productions, including "The Drowsy Chaperone," “The Producers,” “Thou Shalt Not,” “Cats,” “Dame Edna: The Royal Tour” and “Back with a Vengeance.” In April 2010, he will conduct the Broadway revival of “Promises, Promises” with Emmy Award-winner Sean Hayes and Tony and Emmy Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth.

Reno has lent his talents to arrangements and orchestrations for Gary Marshall and Paul Williams’ “Happy Days,” the “Broadway Under the Stars” television show, and the motion picture production of “The Producers.”

Reno is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
