Scholarship Recognition Day
Presidential Scholarship Recognition Day brought 287 students and their families to ONU on Saturday, Jan. 16.
That is 40 more students than took part in 2009. In addition, 26 additional students will be evaluated through alternative options, bringing the total to 313 presidential level students, says Karen Condeni, vice president and dean of enrollment.
Candidates for the Presidential Scholarships are top students from across the nation, those with 30+ ACT scores and records of academic success. Eight students from this elite group interviewed for the two $30,000 Mathile Scholarships.
The prospective students met with current student scholars, faculty, staff and alumni, while parents took part in informational sessions. A luncheon followed in the ONU Sports Center.
Three more scholarship days are scheduled with scholarships to be awarded in late February.
