Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mohti, PE
Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mohti has been with the ONU Civil Engineering Department since 2009 where he is currently an associate professor of Civil Engineering. Previously, he worked as a structural engineer for EHAF Consulting Engineers in Cairo, Egypt and as a research assistant at both Lawrence Tech and University of Nevada-Reno. All of his degrees are in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering, having received his PhD from the University of Nevada-Reno in Reno, NV; his MS from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI and his BS from Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt. At ONU, he teaches the structural engineering and mechanics courses. Dr. Abdel-Mohti's research involves experimental and analytical studies of performance, design and retrofit of buildings and bridges. His research has been widely published in refereed journals and conference proceedings and he is on the board of ASEE-NCS (North Central Section) and is a registered professional engineer in Ohio.
