Across the Ohio Northern University campus, faculty, staff and students are helping make the holidays a littler brighter for others.
Here are just a few examples of projects taken on by ONU family members:
For the 19th year, the ONU Secretaries Association brought together ONU administration, faculty, staff and secretaries to help children in Hardin County. Working through Helping Hands Outreach Ministry, ONU volunteers provided toys and clothing for 80 children. Brenda Hamlin, executive administrative specialist in ONU’s Office of Admissions, coordinated the project.
In the Ada School District, 50 families are receiving food baskets and gifts for children from birth through high school seniors. ONU family members partnered with members of the First Presbyterian Church of Ada and Grace Gospel Church of Ada, to help Love Inc. of Hardin County meet the needs of those hurt by tough economic times. Sherry Agin, advanced admissions assistant, helped coordinate the project.
Students, faculty and staff in the Pettit College of Law adopted a local family through Grace Gospel Church and donated enough for a grocery gift card, five boxes of gifts and food for a Christmas meal. The project was coordinated by the law dean’s office with the Student Bar Association. The Christian Legal Society provided a grocery gift card.
