Polish Constitutional Law Expert to Speak at Ohio Northern Law School
Professor Boguslaw Banaszak, a constitutional law authority from the University of Wroclaw in Poland, will be speaking at the Ohio Northern University College of Law at 11:30 a.m., Feb. 13, 2007, on "Human Rights and Liberties in Poland."
Professor Banaszak is head of the Institute of Constitutional Law at the University of Wroclaw, as well as the professor and holder of the chair of Polish Law at Viadrina European University in Frankfurt, Germany. In 2006, Professor Banszak was appointed president of the Polish Legislative Council by the Prime Minister.
Professor Banaszak has written over 250 publications, including 20 in English and 50 in German, including two highly regarded books on Polish Constitutional Law. He is on the editorial board of several scholarly journals and has given over 60 lectures throughout Europe and Latin America.
Professor Banaszak will be discussing the status of human rights and civil liberties in Poland in the context of its new role since the end of the communist era and Poland's membership in the European Union.
