ONU Presents Children’s Turtle Day

Children's SeriesOhio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents "Children's Turtle Day," a day of theatre, education and fun, on Saturday, Nov. 7.

During this free event, children ages 3-18 will have the opportunity to learn about sea turtles and how they can help save this endangered species. Professors and University students will help teach the youngsters. The participants will be split into three groups according to age with age-appropriate activities that best suit them, including artwork and storytelling centered on turtles. Older children will write and perform their own play about sea turtles.

Ages 3-6 will meet from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Ages 7-12 will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Ages 13-18 will meet from 1 to 8 p.m., and a public performance of the older children's play will be at 7:30 p.m.

turtleChildren must register for Turtle Day through the Freed Center box office at 419-772-1900. It is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
