In celebration of the 222nd anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, Ohio Northern University will host a panel discussion in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

JoAnn M. Scott, professor of political science, will moderate the event. Robert Waters, visiting assistant professor of history, will lead the discussion with student presenters Matt Allen, a senior in history from Chicora, Pa., Daniel Arant, junior in history from Lima, Ohio, Alexandra Habbouche, a junior in political science from Oregon, Ohio, and Brendan Kinder, a sophomore in history from Elida, Ohio.

The event is open to the public.

The panel discussion is held in accordance with a federal mandate passed in 2004, which stipulates that every school and college that receives federal money must teach about the Constitution on or near Sept. 17, the day the document was adopted in 1787.
