Opening Week Activities

I.D. cards can be picked up in McIntosh Center (if you already had your ID photo taken at Orientation) on Saturday, September 6th from 10am - 4pm and on Sunday, Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

For your convenience, the ONU Bookstore will be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6, and 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Saturday lunch is complimentary for new students and parents in the Dining Hall. Dinner for new students will be the New Student Picnic.

  • 10:00 a.m. ONU Volleyball Invitational vs. Thomas Moore (Texas), King Horn
  • 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Lunch for new students and parents. Dining Room
  • Noon ONU Volleyball Invitational vs. Thomas Moore (Ky), King Horn
  • 1:30 p.m. Football vs. North Central, Dial Roberson Stadium
  • 4 p.m. ONU Classic Women's Soccer Calvin (Mich), King Horn
  • 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. **New Student Picnic The President and First Lady host this picnic on the Tundra. Dress is informal
  • 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. **Playfair A New Student Mixer, ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse
  • 9 p.m. **Residential Students Meet with Residence Life Staff in Residence Halls for Wing Meetings

SUNDAY, Sept. 7, 2008

  • 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., Hot Breakfast
  • 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Continental Breakfast
  • 9:00 a.m. Polar Trek - with small RH wing groups
  • 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Transportation to the Churches of Ada from the McIntosh Fountain
  • 10 a.m. Van(s) depart for First Baptist Church
    10:15 a.m. Vans and bus depart for: First Methodist, First Presbyterian, St. Mark Lutheran, Grace Gospel, and Church of Christ's Disciples
    10:45 am Buses depart for Our Lady of Lourdes
    *Buses and Vans will return students to McIntosh after each church service.
  • 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 pm "Rethinking Church, In the Chapel with the Chaplain
  • 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Lunch

  • 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Dinner - First Contract Meal For Upperclass Student
  • 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. **Exploring Diversity with Residence Hall Wing Groups (See RA for Locations)

TUESDAY, Sept. 8, 2009

  • 8:00 a.m. - Noon Registration/General Add/Drop Session, Ballroom, McIntosh Center for freshmen, transfers, re-entries and students who attended spring quarter, but did not advance register. Students who miss the morning session will need to go to individual offices in the afternoon.
  • 7:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Breakfast
  • 9:30 a.m. - Midnight White Bear will be Open, Meal Exchanges are available from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m. - Midnight
