Pettit College of Law Welcomes New Students

The Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law welcomes 113 first-year students to its juris doctor program. These students will begin orientation on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009.

The new students range in age from 20 to 41, hail from 22 states and have their bachelor's degrees from 72 undergraduate institutions around the country, including Allegheny, Bryn Mawr, Case Western, Coe, College of Wooster, Colorado State, Cornell, Denison, DePauw, Gannon, Gonzaga, Loyola University Chicago, Marshall, New York University, Ohio State, St. Bonaventure, Temple, University of California-Berkley, University of Illinois, University of Kentucky, University of Wisconsin-Madison and Washington University.

Seventeen percent of the entering class are minority students.

In addition to these new juris doctor students, 14 new LL.M. students are coming from Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Georgia, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine and Zimbabwe.

Classes for the College of Law begin August 24. Approximately 320 juris doctor students and 14 LL.M. students are enrolled for the 2009-10 school year.
