Aug 13, 2009
Kim Broedel-Zaugg, Ohio Northern University professor of pharmacy practice, received the 2008-09 Outstanding Advisor award at the Kappa Epsilon (KE) 47th National Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., held Aug. 5-9, 2009.

The sisters of the ONU KE chapter nominated Broedel-Zaugg for the national award, which is presented to the KE advisor who excels in service to the chapter and to the fraternity. Broedel-Zaugg has served as KE advisor for more than 10 years, and the members of ONU's chapter described her as "passionate about the fraternity and the philanthropies KE supports."

KE is a professional fraternity for women in pharmacy, with 40 collegiate chapters and 15 alumni chapters nationwide. At Ohio Northern, KE strives to unite women in pharmacy and to stimulate a desire for high scholastic achievement.

ONU's chapter of KE co-sponsors the Stefanie Spielman Walk/Run for Breast Cancer at Homecoming, makes gift baskets for area women recently diagnosed with breast cancer and helps with a local spaghetti dinner that donates its proceeds to women in Hardin County that cannot afford mammograms.
