Dean James Fenton Appointed to Ohio Steel Council

Dr. James FentonDr. James W. Fenton Jr., dean of Ohio Northern University's James F. Dicke College of Business Administration, has been appointed to the Ohio Steel Council.

Fenton's role on the Ohio Steel Council will be to represent an institution of higher education in Ohio, providing educational input and receiving steel industry practitioner input having to do with matters involving the steel industry, particularly in Ohio. He will complete the current term, which ends Sept. 17, and fill a three-year term beginning Sept. 18.

The Ohio Steel Council is a public-private partnership designed to strengthen ties among the steel industry, the state of Ohio and its citizens. It was instituted by the Ohio General Assembly in 1990 for the purpose of maintaining a competitive steel industry in Ohio and ensuring the state's economic well-being.

Council members meet quarterly to discuss improvements that can be made and are being made at steel plants in Ohio.
