DNA Evidence Course to Take Place at Ohio Northern University

Ohio Northern University will host a two-day DNA Evidence Training Collection course. Classes will take place in Meyer Hall of Science on June 2 and 3 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This advanced-level course will be taught by Carol Raleigh of Sorenson Forensics. Based in Salt Lake City, Sorenson Forensics is accredited by the American Society of Crime. The class will cover solving cold cases with DNA, CODIS and other databases, touched DNA, and degraded and difficult DNA samples. Law enforcement professionals are encouraged to attend and engage in hands-on exercises, including ALS stain identification, working with difficult substrates, evaluating the most probative items and proper DNA collection techniques.
